Dear partners,
2009 has been an amazing year, you have of course greatly contributed to that. We the staff and children at Kondanani want to say "Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
The majority of people who come here are amazed of what is being achieved and see us as an example to the nation and it is desire to make ban impact on the nation and the children.
BUT you, who cannot physically be here are a partaker in what is being achieved with your time, money and effort poured into the lives of our children.
The last ten days have been amazing, very busy, and we are wonderfully tired, but so satisfied with the results.
First we had the nursery school concert, the little ones sang, danced, said poems, all sorts of things, ofcourse I had to cry even if I was determent not to before we began, it is so precious to see these little blessings develop, We see that we are effective in the lives of the children, they are so clever, I am such a proud mother of many.
The next party was the graduation of 14 children from grade 0 to the ABC's, that means BIG school next year. They are now no longer babies, and I am definitely told that I am no longer allowed to call them "My baby".
They received their certificates and were taken for ice cream to Blantyre. There was great joy .
Then, the award ceremony for the primary school. That is the time when we have a lot of visitors from outside, including dignitaries, government officials and members of parliament and friends of Kondanani. There were 3 District Welfare officers from the different districts we deal with.
A lot of people were very moved by the ceremony and the performances of the children.
The awards are various, academic and character displayed in the last year.
There was a lot of baking and cooking involved for each missionary, but we could not let our guests go without them enjoying our great food and juice.
The last but not the least was last Friday. Father Christmas arrived, we were told that he had come all the way from Malaysia, we had a bit of a giggle about that.
The kids could hardly wait, but first there were hamburgers and lots of nice goodies to be eaten before father Christmas would show his face.
They all believe that he is real, I don't know how much longer, but that makes it even more special. There was a question about his tummy, they wondred if he pillows in his jacket and the other question was, why is the same house mother missing every year. She is our father christmas.
AND Kondanani Holland YOU gave a present of top quality for each child, it was as if it had been counted before it went into the container.
Our member of parliament so enjoyed the award ceremony that she came again to the Christmas party. The largest Corporation in Malawi, called Press Corporation sent 12 of their staff with a cheque which was a very large amount in our currency.
Television Malawi was there filming for different programs and the newspapers were present.
When the children sang their song "My Father is the King of the whole Universe" the TV guys were crying openly.
We give Glory to God for all He has done, and gives us the opportunity to bring joy and build memories into the lives of our children.
Thank you again for all your contributions.
Have a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New year.
Love from Annie Chikhwaza and all the Kondananians
